Sometimes I go about in pity for myself, and all the while a Great Wind carries me across the sky.
Ojibwe (aka Chippewa) proverb

And then I worry that the Great Wind is propelled by someone who’s always blowing it.

Better weatherstripping can help with the draft.

That would have been good to know back in the Vietnam War era.

Sounds like it was a rough draft.

Yeah, it was so rough, many people moved to Canada to avoid the draft. Hard to believe it would be warmer there.

Yeah. Someone who’s not such a rough drafter. I feel fortunate that I came of age shortly after the war and the draft ended. I never had to register.

I think that this Ojibwe dude found himself stranded on an out-of-control hot air balloon.

Hmm, good point. Maybe he was feeling sorry for himself, because it cost so much for the ride, but he had to do something to appease his wife, who was displeased with his selection of a vacation cabin. He lit a cigarette to ease his depression, then carelessly tossed the burning match onto the gondola floor.

As long as the hot air balloon doesn’t go up in flames he should be OK.

Reminds me of another obscure quote from the rock band, Journey, “The wheel in the sky keeps on turning. I don’t know where I’ll be tomorrow.”

That’s a good, accurate line. Life is change, and who knows what adventures we’ll have from day-to-day.
My quote is not so obscure, though, as it was quoted quite a bit in Season 6 of the TV show, The Sopranos.

Still never seen The Sopranos, shockingly. I hear it’s good… Wait, doesn’t another Journey song play in the season finale for that series?🤔

It’s good if you like gangster shows. I don’t remember about the Journey song, but it could be.

I never watched the sopranos. I am not usually drawn to musicals.

It’s a great series. And it’s going to have a sequel that I’ve heard is very bassed.

My first thought after reading the quote was: “Someone has thundering thighs that sigh gas!” And I chuckled when I saw your conclusion joined mine.

Your conclusion is even more cynical than mine. I think we could ruin any good motivational poster.
