I feel smart for I actually knew the real definition. 🙂 Well I guessed at it and was right.

Good one. Yes, it’s a euphemism, just like saying “mobile home” rather than “trailer.”
I can imagine a real estate ad reading, “Beautiful, 5-acres of terraqueous terrain. High water table for a well. A duck hunter’s paradise.”
