      • “Bitching Betty” is the euphemism for female voices on military aircraft. Brits call her “Nagging Nora”. Lifted from a declassified, 1996 research paper by the Defence Research Agency Farnborough:
It was concluded that a female voice was preferable to a male voice from the point of view of intelligibility.

A very calm woman’s voice said, “Left engine on fire; left engine on fire. Right engine on fire; right engine on fire,” as the avionics guys were running some tests. The, “Pull up! Pull up!!!” was rather more assertive. Wondering if something like that might work for contraception?
